Digital technology adoption scale in the blended learning context in higher education: Development, validation and testing of a specific tool

The main objective of this research is to develop, validate and test the extended Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), which contributes to the overall understanding of the intention of students to use digital tools in the context of blended learning in higher education. Factors external bidimensional familiarity with digital tools, which are not usually described by TAM, including, and evaluated.

The following technique-scale development of four stages, the survey’s 25-item seven dimensions were developed, which includes two variables are correlated external: familiarity with digital devices high-tech and familiarity with digital tools traditional, two mediators anxiety variable-computer, and perceived barriers, and three response variables , perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use and intention to use.

The initial version of the survey was given to 250 students. Next, for another sample of 206 students, a survey of latent dimensions were tested using exploratory factor analysis. The structure of this survey validated in the other two the next stage with a sample of 262 responses from students and one of the 310 responses from students master two different universities. All students who agreed to participate in the study attended blended learning.

Validity, reliability and invariance instrument established by psychometric analysis. Data collected indicate that the survey has a multifactorial structure adequate reliable and invariant at degree level. scale recommended for use in higher education studies targeting the sale of blended learning and the reduction of the negative attitude of students towards digital instruments, to support university professors to choose their own efficient way to teach.

Open and Distance Learning (ODL) students rely majorly on the use of Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) tools to facilitate online and other activities that support learning. With an emphasis on ODL students of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Sta te Oyo, Nigeria; Moodle Learning Management System (LMS) has become the primary medium for facilitating online over the last 5 years. Therefore, this data article presents a survey dataset that is given to students LAUTECH ODL in order to assess their readiness to accept and use of alternative social media platforms and technology to facilitate online.

Data article also includes a questionnaire given instrument google form, the 900 responses received in spreadsheet format, chatting generated from the responses, the Statistical Package of Social Sciences (SPSS) files, descriptive and statistical reliability for all variables. The author believes that the dataset will guide policymakers on the choice of social media and technology to be adopted as a facilitation tool for students ODL. It will also reveal the challenges that could be contrary to the willingness to use additional modes of learning from the student perspective.


There is an increased use of augmented reality technology (AR), which combines virtual and real world, in the higher education sector. AR allows flexibility in student learning, because this technology can be used in face-to-face settings and can also be accessed by students at any time outside this setting.

The purpose of this study was to develop a tool to investigate the effectiveness of AR and to learn about the drug naloxone using AR in MagicBook; and determine what students at the reception and usability.
